If you need additional sheets more quickly, you can use any one of a number of private companies that are authorized expediters. By sending your application package to them, they will work with the federal agency to get you your extra sheets as quickly as you want them. You decide how quickly you want the private company to get your passport back to you based on how much you are willing to pay. The most expensive service will be for its fastest turnaround time – same day service. The same day service is usually only available if you live in a city where the company is located. When you are renewing your passport, the fastest way to get extra pages is to request them in your renewal application. As you go through the renewal process, you can ask to get a 52-page book instead of the standard 24 pages.

The form is online, ready to print and be filled out by hand. The other option is to fill it out online first and then print it. It can be mailed or brought to an agency in person. A passport card can be purchased, too. It looks something like a driver’s license and can be used if you travel often to Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, or Bermuda. However, it cannot be used if you are flying to those countries in a plane. The card is smaller and less expensive with fees that are only between $30 and $55, based on various factors.

Expediting

It could be that an emergency has arisen and you need a renewal quickly. In that case, you can expedite the process for an additional $60 fee, plus the cost of two-day postal service. You can bring it in personally but it will have to be mailed back. If you choose to mail it in, it’s advisable to also use two-day delivery, and mark “expedite” on the envelope. It’s also a good idea to opt for mail tracking.

Never sign without being given the instruction and you signature must be witnessed by an agent.

Primary Documents

Although the form may be filled out online, you should submit the completed form personally to one of the certified passport agencies or facilities. This is applicable to all applicants, even minors. The list of certified facilities and passport agencies can be found online. A primary document is needed to verify a person’s identity and US citizenship. These documents may be in the form of a certified birth certificate or a previous passport.

Secondary Documents

One has to present acceptable proof of identification, ideally a government issued identity card or driver’s license. A combination of documents can be required for approval. Other commonly used documents include credit cards and social security cards.

A Personal Witness

A witness who identifies you may also be presented as a primary form of evidence. This witness must fill out an “affidavit of identifying witness” form in front of a passport renewal agent. This witness will swear to your identity so it must be someone who has known you for at least two years and also must be a US Citizen or permanent resident. You also have to provide a photocopy of your identity card along with passport photographs.

Where Are They Now Interview
Jason Cabassi does a television show fan podcast called The Waking Dead Cast. The Waking Dead television show is based on one of the most successful and popular comic books of all time, written by Robert Kirkman.

The following description is from the show’s about page: “AMC’s The Walking Dead captures the ongoing human drama following a zombie apocalypse. The series follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who are traveling in search of a safe and secure home. However, instead of the zombies, it is the living who remain that truly become the walking dead.”

Jason and his co-host Karen were huge fans of the television series and they had already been enjoying lengthy conversations about the tv show before deciding to podcast about it.

In the early part of our interview, you hear that Jason actually launched his fan podcast several months before the television show actually started. As a result, he thought that he would have the first fan podcast devoted to the show. Jason was shocked, however, to learn that there were already two other Walking Dead podcasts that had already launched before him. I think this is valuable information because, as you hear later in the interview, the fact the he was not the first to market did not keep him from experiencing a tremendous amount of success in getting the actors on to his show, doing something that he’s not able to share due to a non-disclosure agreement, and the potential of actually being on the show in the next season.

I hope that this is a source of inspiration for those of you who became discouraged to learn that there were already a number of podcasts devoted to the niche topic that you wanted to focus on with your podcast. I was about the fifth or sixth LOST podcast out there and that single show led to my currently full-time career in podcasting. So don’t worry about the others in your niche field. Create your unique show and get your voice out there!

An interesting note about Jason is that he is a technical writer by day and he used to work for Apple. He actually wrote the owners manual for the first ever iPod and the iPhone. It was when Apple decided to incorporate podcasting into iTunes that he was first introduced to the world of Podcasting. At first, he was very skeptical of the idea of listening to content created by random people without professional broadcast training. However, it did not take him long at all to find a few shows that were created around topics for which he was passionate about to quickly turn him into a fan of audio podcasts.
